(tylko po angielsku) The aim of the course is to teach students the most important issues relating to the management of human capital in the organization which operate in an international environment and provide knowledge of different aspects of human capital management in the international environment, pointing to the higher complexity of human resources, what is connected with cultural factors and diversity. The course covers issues related with employees and managers working in international companies, factors differentiating national cultures, issues concerning intercultural management, expatriation and repatriation. The course will help students to understand the key issues and the main challenges in the management of people in organization operating in an international environment. Course content: 1. Modern human resources management - globalization and human resource management. The International company / corporation and HRM. 2. International human resource management - the concept. Features of the international human resource management. Trends in international human resource management. 3. Categories of employees according to the concept of an international human resource management. Models of international business and people management. 4. Groups of executives in international companies. Competences of international managers. 5. International managers - counteracting acculturation - trainings. HR departments in international companies – models. 6. Organizational culture and international human resource management. 7. The factors differentiating national cultures in the context of international human resource management {G. Hofstede, R. Gesteland, E. Hall}. 8. Phenomena associated with intercultural management {culture shock, collision and cultural gap, cultural sensitivity, diversity management}. 9. Expatriation and repatriation. 10. Selected aspects of international human resource management {compensation packages in multinational companies, motivating employees in multinational companies, factors and challenges affecting the international management of human resources}. |

(tylko po angielsku) Evaluate 5.0 - a full realization of the desired student learning outcomes (knowledge, skills, social skills) - team projects/presentations 80%; 20% student’s class activity. Two presentations (Team projects): 1.The characteristics of the culture of a selected country in the context of people management - in relation to the choosen typology (G. Hofstede, R. Gesteland, E. Hall) - 40%. 2.The analysis of a selected problem of IHCM [one problem] - 40%. 3.Student's class avtivity - 20 %. |
