(tylko po angielsku) Introducing the student to the issues of architectural design in accordance with the assumptions of sustainable development. Preparing the student to consciously shape the architectural form and the immediate surroundings of buildings, taking into account social and technical factors and the impact of the designed structures on the natural environment and users. To familiarize the student with alternative construction technologies with a lower impact on the environment. Expanding the workshop with new literature and tools enabling design according to the desired pro-ecological assumptions |

(tylko po angielsku) - Introduction to the subject: organization and passing criteria. - Explanation of the concept of sustainable development - history, definition, assumptions. The main goals of sustainable development based on applicable documents. The impact of sustainable development on architecture and urban planning. Applicable legal acts, the role of the architectural profession in shaping the built environment, professional ethics. - Discussion of sustainable architecture - shaping architecture, factors of designing an architectural object in accordance with the principles of sustainable development. Minimizing the impact of construction on the environment: multi-criteria certifications, building life cycle, LCA analysis - assessment of the carbon footprint of a construction investment. - Discussion of the context of the location of the designed facilities - location conditions, recognition of the cultural and functional values of the location of the designed facility, relations between the facility and its surroundings. - Discussing the possibilities of reducing the impact of construction facilities on the environment. A review of alternative construction technologies with low environmental impact. Discussion of the concept of circular economy and reuse of building materials. Presentation of alternative energy sources - renewable energy sources and their integration with architecture. - Analysis of selected projects and implementations. Design workshops: Architectural concept of a building based on the principles of sustainable architecture. - Discussion of the semester project, organization of classes and passing criteria: purpose, scope, conditions and requirements. - Work on the project, presentation of the initial concept, site analysis, search for the context of the place. Strengths and weaknesses of the location. Discussion on the development of the project concept and technical solutions, issues regarding the principles of project presentation, corrections. - Reviews - presentation of project advancement. - Design work, concept presentation, discussion, corrections. - Final presentation of projects, assessment of student work, feedback and discussion. |

Understands the principles of universal design, including the idea of designing spaces and buildings accessible to all users. Understands the importance of the natural environment in architectural design, urban design and spatial planning. Knows and understands methods and means of implementing ecologically responsible and sustainable design. Has knowledge of the impact of climatic factors on the shape of architecture. SKILLS Can creatively design a small architectural form that meets the general principles of sustainable development. Correctly analyzes the context of the place, the relationship between the object and the surroundings, and the architectural composition. Is able to use alternative construction and material technologies to minimize the negative impact of a facility on the environment. Recognizes the importance of non-technical aspects and effects of an architect's design activity, including its impact on the cultural and natural environment. Is able to apply computer technologies to obtain an appropriate architectural concept that meets the requirements of sustainable development. SOCIAL COMPETENCES Is aware of the importance and understands the non-technical aspects and effects of the activity of an architect, including its impact on the environment and spatial order, taking into account the principles of sustainable design. Student is ready to think independently and draw conclusions. Is able to convey information and formulate opinions regarding the topic of sustainable architecture. Has developed curiosity about the world, independence in inquiry and action, and independence in thinking. |
Metody i kryteria oceniania: |
(tylko po angielsku) Architectural design of the building 20% - work during classes (active participation in classes, presentations of work progress according to the schedule) 80% - final project Scope of the final project: Boards in the 70x100cm format in a horizontal arrangement with the presentation of the project to the group. 1. Terrain analysis. 2. Site plan development at a scale of 1:500. The drawing should contain all necessary markings and descriptions. 3. Architectural design od scale of 1:100. Floor plans: ground floor, first floor, roof, 2 cross sections, elevations including materials and colors. Construction detail on a scale 1:20, visualisations – 2 shots – human perspective. Description of the design ideas and diagrams explaining the passive solutions used in the building. |
