(tylko po angielsku) Urban design course concerns a small part of city (40-60 ha) with diverse functions. The task depends on giving proposition, due to many aspects and some problems of contextual analyses, transformation building and open areas, formation of public space shape and insertion new buildings for gaining better quality of city environment of human living, according to contemporary trends of urban planning development. The important component of design project is drawing functional-spatial solutions using planning regulations. Urban design project works consist of three phases: - phase of analysing (prepared by a team) existing urban structure conditions: public space layout, form and function of buildings, cultural and natural environment, layouts of technical and transport infrastructure, finished by conclusions in graphic and descriptive forms. - phase of creating variants of spatial conceptions (minimum 2) of land development in scale 1:2000/1:5000, explained urban structure of whole area and schemas concerning: public space network, arrangement of functions, green fields, and transport systems. - phase of detailed solutions (done individually) of chosen part for each student in the group, of design project in scale 1:1000 in a form of development project, which explains: building solutions(masterplan) , 3D model and plan drawing with planning regulations MPZP), basic planning rates and quantitative data. Submission: Board 1 - done in a group • Precondition analysis • and conclusions Board 2 - done in 3 person groups • sketch variants of land use models - taking into account the conclusions of the analyses, • Spatial structure of the entire study area - 2D plan or 3D model, • diagrams • scale depending on the subject 1:2000, 1:5000 Board 3 - individually made • selected fragment of the area- 10-15 ha in scale 1:2000 • 2D fragment of the development project 1:1000 and the corresponding 3D model. |

Efekty uczenia się: |
(tylko po angielsku) The student knows and understands urban design workshops, knows how to use different forms and functions, codes for the kinds of buildings, shaping of public spaces, knowledge of professional Polish codes, norms and regulations, interpretation of planning regulations, and necessity of local context consideration: functional, spatial, environmental, cultural, social, legal and infrastructure conditions. Student knows how to read local plan maps and create his own MPZP plan in accordance to his project. SKILLS The student is able to collect all necessary information and analysis data regarding the designed area and the surrounding from Polish websites and local plans to create comprehensive analysis maps which he will use to reach to conclusions that will guide him through his design. The student is able to present these maps and analysis in a clear diagrams or maps. The student is able to discuss with team members about the design solutions, and to make the right decisions about the land development by adding the necessary forms and functions of the newly designed buildings, basing that decision on the comprehensive analysis of its usefulness. The student is able to implement new ideas in terms of sustainability connection with The student is able to present his work in the analysis and the assessment he made about the project in the form of maps and diagrams, he is able to defend his choice of the new forms or functions of the implemented buildings. The student is able to show the final development plan in accurate design solutions and their compliance with conclusions from the analytic phase. SOCIAL COMPETENCES The student is prepared and has an experience to work in a group, share his opinion and views on the project, and respect other teammate's opinions, diverse views, and cultures. They can independently and in a group solve design problems, conduct self-assessments, and offer constructive criticism in urban planning. The student is willing to think creatively, be mindful of social aspects that could affect his design, add new ideas in sustainability and environment protection |
Metody i kryteria oceniania: |
(tylko po angielsku) Course requirements: 1. The projects are made in groups of 2-3 students. When there is an even number of people, a group of 2 can be formed. 2. Students must be present during all the classes. Only one unexcused absence is permissible. Every additional absence decreases your final grade. Three or more unexcused absences automatically result in not getting the credit for the course. 3. Attendance is marked individually (not collectively in accordance with your team). Overview: 1. Overview of the projects will take place at the end of every phase. 2. Attendance is obligatory. Components of final degree: 1. Creativity of the concept, 2. Accuracy 3. Aesthetics. 4. Clarity of the presentation 5. Compliance of the design drawing with the assumed scale will be assessed. Components of final degree - proportions of assessment components in percent 70 % project 30% level of presentation |
