Sustainable Design in Architecture and Urban Planning 2

Familiarizing students with the issues of architectural and urban design in accordance with the principles of sustainable development. The aim of the course is to acquaint the students with strategies to preserve the ecological balance in the process of building and maintaining architectural structures in harmony with their environment, with respect to the law regulations and understanding a need to protect future generations.

2. The basic terms and phenomena related to ecology and protection of the environment. Sustainable development in architecture and urban design.

3.Impact of architectural structures on environment in the entire life cycle. Cycle of building existence. Durability of materials. Certificates

4. Requirements regarding thermal protection of buildings and energy conservation. Basics of structural physics -an explanation of the basic physical processes in buildings.

5. Evaluation methods of the building impact on the environment. Pro-ecological architecture and energy efficient technologies.
